Someday when I am gone There may be a picture of me on some wall I will be remembered one last time Then the memory of me will fade into the abyss after me... To my dear dear friends who left early, last year Leaving behind, some old school tales of childhood days To all the giggling & jokes Whispering in school corridors and sharing of notes Cycling in the heat of summer or riding the moped in the rain Of many memories that I will cherish, some will remain Jasbir, my bench mate, sharing the yummy paratha & pickle, at lunch break the rustling of your dupatta and your famous dance to, "Bindiya Chamkegi" Oh dear Shaija! Where do I start? From the dimples in your cheeks, your brave fight with cancer, your silly jokes or your contagious laugh Shy Shubh, such a soft spoken sweet heart your simplicity, smile, biology diagrams, your poems or art So many questions for the maker above So many thoughts for the bereaved loved ones Your unexplained early demise taught me to heed From the depths, to re-surface, swim and breathe To live each day as it were the last... To seek new adventures & explore unknown paths To live, laugh & with humbleness pray Filled with gratitude at the end of each day Happy to be and just smile & wave For creating memories, to all my class, school & old friends Stay blessed where ever you are Sending you hugs with a prayer in my heart And a wicked smile on my face Thinking of the party that we will rock When I finally join you upstairs... In memory of classmates from school, Jasbir, Shaija, Shubhalakshmi (Bilaspur, Madhya Pradesh) and Suganya (Kothari's Chennai, India)
