EXAMPLE 1 ~Easter 1993 ~ The Risen Christ ( My first commission was for the local Catholic Church in Central India. The statue of the risen Christ had broken beyond repair while cleaning and with Easter approaching it was impossible to get a replacement at such short notice. Sister Michael who was in charge for decorating the church on feast days requested me if I would paint a picture of the Risen Lord and I happily agreed even though I was nine months pregnant and due my first child soon after Easter. I completed the picture in a week’s time and was delighted with the results. But most importantly, I was extremely happy that I was given such a rare and great opportunity and the painting of the Risen Christ was adored for many many years, and I received more than my share of blessings! )
