With the last of the Christmas china gone, the cushions and crockery stacked, the baubles, boughs and bells packed, the table ware and linen washed, and the herculean task of putting away the Christmas tree (…only to be forgotten for another 365 days); with the feast of Epiphany, Christmas is officially done!
As much as we love Christmas and Santa, the merry making and the carolling, putting up the tinsel and tree, the little snowman figurines, what is even more joyful is when the partying is over, the festivities are done, the chocolate delights have disappeared, the indulgences all gone and the ornaments, cookie jars and cake tins are put away. A huge sigh of relief and viola, we have gotten our space back!
With the New year and new tidings, and all semblance of Christmas gone, a clutter free surrounding sans the Christmasy reds, golds and green brings back freshness, light and space, and more importantly, normalcy back in life. It is like the perfect way of giving thanks and culminating a year with great gusto yet waiting to start afresh, all over again.
Happy with the reclaimed space, the sunshine and air, the lingering aroma of mulled wine, a New year full of promises, a New year just begun…
